TREE & SHRUB SERVICES Delaware Valley Spray Service, Inc. is owned by Jim and Paul Bruni. Established in 1961 by Nick Bruni, a retired US Navy Chief Petty Officer. In 1961 tree and lawn care was relatively unheard of. Nick was a pioneer in this new and upcoming industry. With some prior experience in the area of agriculture, along with his wife Ida, he took a chance and chose this line of work in order to provide for their six children. Together they started a "one man operation" with Ida as his secretary, bookkeeper, and accountant, while still holding down a full time job. Built on integrity, hard work, and outstanding service, DVSS blossomed into the successful business that it is today. Nick retired from the business in 1985. Jim and Paul had often worked with Nick during school breaks and weekends in the early years. In 1973 Paul, now company president, began working full time. A decade later, in 1983, Jim joined in a full time capacity. Jim & Paul refused many opportunities over the years to expand the company. They recognized their own personal commitment to service and quality as the foundation of the company success.
In 2000 they hired Chris O'Brien, a N.J.
Certified Tree Expert, to expand their horticultural service
line. DVSS currently retains a customer base of nearly one
thousand accounts including many of Nick's original clients. |
